Perfect Huge Koneprusia brutoni Fossil Trilobite. Flying Display. Devonian. Issimour Mountain (Phylonix quarry). Morocco.
Restoration details: Residual - 1st left thoracic spine and the tip of the 5th left thoracic spine restored.
Presented is a beautiful Konupresia trilobite from the Moroccan Devonian with residual restoration. The freestanding "flying" display of all the thin spines is a laborious and very skilled work of dozens (sometimes hundreds) of laboratory hours, under the microscope, just accessible to very few people in all the world.
Must add that this specimen proceeds from one unusual locality for the species: Issimour Mountain, from the Phylonix (Quadrops flexuosa) quarry. The exoskeleton shows a slightly different patina's bright colour than the majority of Koneprusia's specimens from Ofaten or Foum Zguid.
Dimensions: Specimen: 5,0 x 3,6 cm; Matrix: 7,3 x 6,8 cm.
Finding location: Issimour mountain (Phylonix quarry), Anti-Atlas Mountains, Morocco.
Taxonomy - Species: Koneprusia brutoni. Family: Odontopleuridae. Order: Odontopleurida. Class: Trilobita.
Geological Period: Devonian, from Paleozoic Era.
